What does Pik Scan do?

Pik Scan checks a supported session's plugin requirements against the plugins installed on the current Mac, without opening the DAW. It supports Pro Tools .ptx, Cubase .cpr, Nuendo .npr and REAPER .rpp session files.

It also checks a WAV for the supported A1A2 risk and can write a cleaned stereo copy while leaving the original unchanged. Its report is a checklist, not a replacement for opening and listening in the DAW.

What does Pik Manager do?

Pik Manager inventories locally installed AAX, AU, VST3, VST2 and CLAP plugins, then helps compare versions, protection markers, duplicates and machine profiles. It can also check official update catalogs for selected vendors.

What does Pik QC check?

Pik QC checks Atmos ADM BWF delivery metadata and measures loudness directly from PCM. It does not render or encode. Its delivery checks include format, metadata, object and true-peak information, with advisory findings kept distinct from a pass or fail result.

What are Pik Player Pro, Pik Player and Pik Live for?
  • Pik Player Pro is a review player for multichannel and Atmos masters, with metering, timecoded notes and delivery reports.
  • Pik Player is for a local hi-res music library, with output-device selection and an honest display of its audio-path state.
  • Pik Live records Core Audio multitrack input to RF64, with redundant writing to two drives and local event records.

What stays local, and what is release-specific?

Do all Pik apps have the same network behavior?

No. Pik Scan reads supported sessions, inspects WAV files and creates HTML reports locally. Pik QC is fully offline with no telemetry, and Pik Live is fully local with no uploads or telemetry. Pik Manager keeps its plugin list local, but makes anonymous GET requests when it checks its online version catalogs. Those checks can be turned off.

Is every Pik app signed and notarized by Apple?

No. Signing and notarization are stated per shipped release, not for the whole lineup. The current release data identifies Pik Scan as a signed and notarized build.

Why are beta, experimental and unavailable states called out?

The honest axis is part of the product. Pik describes only behavior verified in the software, and keeps a beta, experiment, advisory result or unavailable product labeled as such.
